For many years we have put our skin at the bottom of our list of priorities. I recently started to wonder why so many people don’t take care of their skin. After doing much research and asking close friends and family members I was shocked by their responses. The two main reasons that people don’t take care of their skin is because they are either too lazy, or don’t know how to properly take care of their skin. The reason this shocked me is because for some reason I thought the number one reason was going to be that they didn’t have the money to purchase the right products to take care of their skin, but I was wrong. It turns out that most people would be willing to spend money on products that they feel would improve their skin but being that they are too lazy to use the products, they just don’t bother even buying them.
This led me to wonder if our skin could talk, what would it say? Skin needs nourishment and will not present itself well if not taken care of. Think of how your stomach growls to let you know you are hungry. It’s talking to you telling you to feed it or you won’t have energy and won’t feel your best. Your skin talks to you the same way. When your skin is bumpy, dry, with uneven skin tone and rough texture it’s talking to you and some of us are not taking the time to listen. Just like a plant, your skin needs tender love and care. When you practice a skincare routine and stick with it your skin will thank you in the best way. You won’t even have to work hard to cover it up with makeup. You will be proud of your skin and you will be happy to show it of everyday. Anyone can have beautiful skin and all it takes is ENERGY.
When you put energy into something watch it grow, watch it enhance and watch it improve. Treat your skin like you treat someone you love. Think about the person or thing you love more than anything in this world. Don’t you give it attention? Don’t you cherish it? Don’t you put energy into it him or her? Your skin is the first thing people notice when they look at you and the second thing is your teeth. I will write another article soon about the importance of perfect teeth. People see your skin before you even open your mouth to speak. Your skin is what makes you attractive and tells how well you take care of yourself. You would be surprised what your skin says about you. Let your skin represent you in the best way.
I’m constantly asked about my skin and how I care for it. There is a mixture of things I do. I will start with the natural remedies. It’s important to know that how you take care of your body on the inside reflects out onto the outer surface of your skin. You should be in good health. The best thing you can do for your skin is exercise. When you exercise it gives you oxygen and increases your blood flow and blood carries nutrients to the active cells in your body. Exercise also helps to get rid of free radicals and waste from your body that would cause you to have bad skin. The second most important thing I do is drink plenty of water. I drink anywhere from 6 to 8 glasses a day. Water is the best hydration for skin. The last natural remedy is plenty of vitamin c. Vitamin C is in most vegetables and fruit so being that I’m a vegetarian, it is easy for me to get plenty of vitamin c in my diet alone. I also take a vitamin c supplement daily. Eat your green leafy vegetables they have the most vitamin c and are good for your health. Don’t be afraid of the sun. I love getting natural sunlight and having it beam on my skin. It’s also very important to get natural vitamin d from the sun. To protect yourself from harmful sun rays all you need is sunscreen with 35 SPF. It’s important not to overdo it by using a sunscreen with SPF that is too high because then you block the vitamin d from entering your skin and you don’t want to do that.
Skincare products are heaven sent and I’m so thankful for the chemists who create them. My absolute favorite skincare item is Radiant Silk Peptide Serum, featured in British Vogue magazine. I use it day and night and a little goes a long way. Because of this serum I can look much younger than I am and fight the signs of aging. Not only does it give me a radiant glow, but it diminishes dark spots and skin discoloration. It uses peptides to plump and tighten your skin giving you a natural face lift. This lessens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It puts the collagen back in your skin that starts to diminish as you age.
There are many ways to take care for your skin, but mostly you must be willing to put in the work. Put your best face forward. Your skin will be with you until the day you die so why not make it represent you in the best way possible?
