4 Reasons Why You Should Be Using Willow Bark on Your Skin
- It has Natural Skincare Benefits
Willow Bark is made from the bark of the white willow tree. Therefore, it is botanical and safe to use on skin. It’s been around for many years used as a natural remedy for skin way before newer skincare methods existed.
- Its’s Anti-Inflammatory
One of the most important ingredients found in the white willow is called salicin. This ingredient is like aspirin in which it has the ability to reduce inflammation. When acne exists on the face, it will reduce the swelling and pain associated with a stubborn bump. This effect will diminish the appearance of existing acne and fight to keep it off your face with continued use. The best product in my opinion for acne prone skin is Herbal Balancing Face Toner. Willow Bark is its key ingredient and it’s in a spray bottle which makes it easy to use for those on the go. After washing my face twice, a day, I spray the toner all over my face and wipe it off with a flat cotton pad. Being that I have oily skin, this is a product I can’t live without.
- It Balances and Cleanses
Willow bark aids to clean your skin by lifting the dirt that lies deep in your pores. It’s good to keep your pores free of dirt so bacteria won’t develop underneath the outer layer of your skin. Clogged pores are what causes a bump to develop in the first place. Willow bark is also good at removing the sebum from your skin which helps to balance out the oils in your face. By balancing out the oils on your skin it allows you to not have too much oil in certain areas of your skin and not enough oil in other spots.
- It’s Suitable For All Skin Types
If you have dry skin, you will love willow bark’s ability to be able to exfoliate and alleviate your skin of dead skin cells. When those dead skin cells are removed it will reveal newer and radiant skin. People with oily skin will love how it controls oil without over drying their skin. It’s also gentle enough for people with sensitive skin because it is a natural extract that soothes skin which can calm some skin irritations. Last, but not least it’s beneficial in maintaining your youth! Willow bark has been known to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. As it exfoliates, removing the dead skin cells, the younger thicker skin is presented, and that skin is plumper and smoother which makes skin appear tighter and youthful looking.
